at Inka Gallery in Salmanca Place.

The opening is on Friday 13 January at 5.30 pm so please come and see the exhibition if you can. There will be more prints and a few landscape paintings as well.

Mini Print Exhibition at the Sidespace Gallery in Salamanca

The annual Hunter Island Press Mini Print Exhibition opened last night at the Sidespace Gallery with hundreds of people attending. All prints are one size and one price - $25, great bargains for Christmas presents. The show ends on 30 November .

I have stuck to my "magpie theme" with three new images added to the collection.

The United Nations has declared 2011 the International Year of Chemistry as a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well being of humankind. The objective of this project is to celebrate the IYC expressing chemistry through art.

Chemists have prepared information on each element including its discovery, history and modern day uses.This information has been distributed to approximately 30‐40 Tasmanian artists who are preparing limited edition prints of each of the 112 elements, interpreting this information.
All prints will be exhibited together (pinned in correct figuration) at the end of the project to form a full Periodic Table using art to describe the most fundamental and important document used by chemists.

I have been assigned 3 elements - Neon, Scandium and Krypton and these are my images representing these elements:

The artwork has been designed for an exhibition developed by The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc and supported by Questacon.

The copyright to these images has now been transferred to The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc.

I have been invited to participate in a combined Tasmanian and Brisbane printmakers exhibition on a theme of pine/apples. I have just finished this large 52 x 73 cm print.

The exhibition at the Franklin Art Gallery will be open by Milan Milojevic on Friday 26 Feb at 6.30pm and will run for 10 days. All welcome!
