Images for "Periodic Table on Show" project


      The United Nations has declared 2011 the International Year of Chemistry as a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and its contributions to the well being of humankind. The objective of this project is to celebrate the IYC expressing chemistry through art.
      Chemists have prepared information on each element including its discovery, history and modern day uses.This information has been distributed to approximately 30­‐40 Tasmanian artists who are preparing limited edition prints of each of the 112 elements, interpreting this information.
All prints will be exhibited together (pinned in correct figuration) at the end of the project to form a full Periodic Table using art to describe the most fundamental and important document used by chemists.

I have been assigned 3 elements - Neon, Scandium and Krypton and these are my images representing these elements:

      The artwork has been designed for an exhibition developed by The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc and supported by Questacon.
